MENTORING

At Eden Mentoring, we provide structured, relationship-led mentoring that supports young people to re-engage with school, develop positive behaviours, and realise their potential. Through consistent 1:1 and small-group sessions, we create a trusted space where pupils feel heard, challenged, and supported, helping them build confidence, strengthen decision-making, and navigate the social and personal pressures that can impact their progress in education.

Who Our Mentors Are

Our mentors are local, trusted men who are carefully selected, vetted, and trained to support boys through adolescence. They act as a “Safe Pair of Hands” — consistent, non-judgmental role models who provide the steady guidance many young men need.

Rooted in their communities, our mentors are chosen for their character, emotional maturity, and ability to build genuine trust. They help boys navigate modern pressures, online influences, and confusion around masculinity.

All mentors complete safeguarding checks, specialist training, and ongoing supervision to ensure safe, wise, and consistent support.

How

At Eden, our mentoring process is centred on creating a "Greenhouse" a safe, professional, and warm environment designed to provide the perfect conditions for a young man to grow We provide a 1:1 "trellis" of support where our mentors offer an emotionally safe and non-judgmental space for students to step away. Through our approach, we engage in big-picture thinking to help boys navigate the "legion of distractions" and distorted online narratives that often lead to social isolation, By utilising frameworks like the Reconciliation Map (RecMap) and life-mapping exercises, unlocking the seeds of potential already within every boy. Our ultimate goal is to see these students move from confusion to character, helping them become good men who live skilful, fulfilled lives of meaning and significance.

The Process

  1. Your school meets with a certified Eden Group Mentor. You get to know them and see if they align with the vision and values of the school.

  2. You onboard the mentor if successful and they start a 6 month trial. It’s your Safeguarding policy and your reporting pathway. All our mentors are safely recruited and DBS checked.

  3. Decide a day of the week and an appropriate meeting space.

  4. Choose your first 5 young people.

  5. Reflect, discuss and learn as you go.

There are 55,000 missing men from Higher Education in the UK every year— half a million over the last decade.

Boys are twice as likely to get excluded and are twice as likely to be medicated for their behaviour.

Behaviour inconsistencies, misogyny and social isolation in schools are the fruits of hidden wounds and beliefs that young people carry - picked up from pressure, distorted online narratives and exposure to harmful content. Excessive screen use, cyberbullying, and risky digital behaviours are closely linked to anxiety, disengagement from school, and poor mental health.

We’re mentoring in High Schools across Norfolk. Young people have been encouraged to continue in school, behaviour has improved and relationships restored. Year 11’s are finishing school with a growing sense of who they are, what they’re doing next, and who they’re doing it with.

We offer:

  • Practical pathways forward tailored to each young person

  • Framework for ongoing growth in story, faith, hope, relationships, self, and work

  • Encouragement, emotional connectedness, and clarity of direction

  • Strong foundation for boys seeking guidance and direction
