SAFEGUARDING
Safeguarding is our highest priority.
Eden Mentoring works in partnership with schools, and all mentoring activity takes place under the school’s safeguarding policies and oversight. The statutory responsibility for safeguarding and child protection always remains with the school, and Eden mentors operate entirely within the school’s procedures.
At the same time, we take the recruitment and onboarding of our mentors very seriously. Every mentor undergoes robust checks, interviews and reference verification to ensure they meet the high standards expected of anyone working with young people. We provide guidance on professional conduct, boundaries, and best mentoring practice to support a safe and positive experience for all participants.
Any concerns identified by mentors during sessions are immediately referred to the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring the young person receives appropriate support through the school’s safeguarding framework.
We are committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment in all our mentoring activities, while supporting schools in delivering their safeguarding responsibilities effectively.
